At Kissamo, we believe your dog’s gear should be as unique as their personality. That’s why we’ve moved beyond the rigid punch-holes of traditional dog collars. Our Interlace Collars are handcrafted using professional-grade performance nylon, designed to provide a truly custom, "in-between" size fit for every breed.

Whether you’re prepping for a rugged hike or a city stroll, here is everything you need to know about fitting and maintaining your Interlace gear.

How to Adjust Your Interlace Collar for the Perfect Fit

Instead of settling for a hole that is "too tight" or "too loose," you can adjust the hand-knotted rope to their precise fit and comfort.

Step-by-Step Adjustment:

  1. Loosen the Knots: Simply loosen the knots slightly on either side of the hardware —you do not need to fully untie them.

  2. Slide the Rope: Once the knots are slack, slide and adjust the rope so that the collar becomes tighter or looser to your desired fit.

  3. Secure the Knots: Pull the knots snug to lock the size in place. Because our rope is fray-resistant and high-strength, it will stay secure until you’re ready to change it.

  4. Check the Fit: Ensure you can fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog’s neck.

Care Instructions: Keeping Your Gear Adventure-Ready

Our Interlace collars and leashes are built with washable nylon rope and water-resistant zinc alloy hardware.

How to Wash Your Collar:

  • The Quick Clean: For daily dirt, simply brush the collar when dry; the braided nylon naturally sheds most dirt.

  • The Deep Wash: Hand wash the collar and leash in warm water with a dash of dish soap or give it a soak with water and baking soda.

  • To Knot or Not: You can leave the knots tied during washing. However, if your pup had a particularly muddy adventure, unknotting the rope allows for a deeper clean of the fibers. Before washing, you can loosen the knots without fully untying them.

  • Drying: Wring out the collar and leash and squeeze out the excess moisture with a towel. Allow the collar to air dry. The nylon rope will typically dry within 12 hours depending on how thoroughly it was wrung out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Kissamo collars waterproof? Yes, our Interlace collars feature water-resistant professional-grade nylon and rust-resistant zinc alloy hardware, making them perfect for rainy walks.

What sizes do Interlace collars come in? We offer a full range from XXS (9 inches) to Large (19.5 inches). Because they are fully adjustable, they are the best dog collars for growing puppies or dogs between standard sizes.

How do I clean gold dog collar hardware? Kissamo’s premium gold-finished hardware should be hand-washed with mild soap and dried immediately with a soft cloth to maintain its designer luster.
